MPSC - ADNOC Workshop

Almulhem Petroleum Services Company (MPSC) conducted a workshop for Onshore Reservoir Management Division, Abu Dahbi National Company (ADNOC) held in Abu Dhabi. Workshop was conducted by MPSC KSA & USA technology team on July 4, 2024 titled “Smart NanoMax Technology Innovative Nano and Biochemical Solutions for Well Optimization”. MPSC introduced state of the art nanotechnology applications and solutions related to Water shutoff, well stimulation treatment and its advantages, particularly formation enhancement and production stimulation over conventional chemical solutions typically focusing on addressing immediate symptoms. Advantages of Nano lubricants and Drag reducing nano technology in drilling was highlighted.

The work shop covered, well stimulation, enhanced and improved oil recovery, formation damage removal, Paraffin, asphaltene, biofilm and scale mitigation and control, disposal well injection improvement, water flood sweep efficiency improvement and water block removal issues. Question and answer session provided deep Insite of Nanotechnology solution for oil &Gas industry.

Workshop was attended by 30+ ADNOC onshore and offshore field engineers, drilling technology specialists and onshore management personals form ADNOC and presented by MPSC Mr. Saeed Alzahrani (CEO), Mr. Alan Brown and Dr. Muzher Almusabeh.

MPSC - KOC Technical Workshop

Kuwait May 12-13, 2024

Almulhem Petroleum Services Company (MPSC) conducted two days’ workshop for Innovative & Technology (I&T) department Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) team in Kuwait, workshop was conducted by MPSC KSA & USA team on 12 and 13 of May titled “Innovative Nano and Biotechnology a smart approach to Productivity Enhancement and Injectivity Improvement in Tight Reservoirs”. MPSC introduced state of the art nanotechnology applications and solutions related to Water shutoff and well stimulation treatment and advantages, particularly formation enhancement and production stimulation over conventional chemical solutions typically focusing on addressing immediate symptoms.

Two days’ work shop covered, well stimulation, enhanced and improved oil recovery, formation damage removal, Paraffin, asphaltene, biofilm and scale mitigation and control, disposal well injection improvement, water flood sweep efficiency improvement and water block removal issues.

Workshop was attended by 25+ on and off KOC field engineers form KOC and presented by MPSC technical team; Mr. Saeed Alzahrani, Mr. Alan Brown and Dr. Muzher Almusabeh.

MPSC - Oman Petroleum & Energy Show

Oman April 22 to 24, 2024

Almulhem Petroleum Services Company (MPSC) actively participated in Oman Petroleum & Energy Show (OPES2024) Conference and Exhibition held in Muscat Oman, from April 22 to 24, 2024. The OPES2024 hosted by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) Under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals (MoEM) of Oman and organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).

Our latest technical paper titled “An Environmentally Friendly Smart Nanotechnology Application Solution for Chemical Water Shut Off and Conformance Control in Oil and Gas Wells” were represented. The presentation highlighted the unwanted water production issues which causes major economic, operational, and environmental problems during oilfield operations. Water Shutoff Chemical Systems, especially the new generation of Relative Permeability Modifiers (RPM), offer a potential solution to the problems of excessive water production. These products, identified as Relative Permeability Modifiers, are introduced to the reservoir, typically by bullhead injection or as fracture additives, with the intention of reducing the relative permeability to water, while avoiding as much as possible any reduction in the relative permeability to oil. First time, Nano chemicals are implemented as a safe and unique system with a great deal of benefit in terms of well productivity enhancement taking into consideration the most challenging limestone carbonate reservoir characteristics such as tight permeability.

MPSC - SPE Water Lifecycle Management Conference and Exhibition in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi March 7-9, 2024

MPSC actively participated in the first SPE Water Lifecycle Management Conference and Exhibition in AbuDhabi, from March 7-9, hosted by ADNOC. Ammar Al-Ameri, VP of Onshore Reservoir Management at ADNOC, chaired the event.

Dr. Abdullah AlDhafeeri, MPSC CTO, participated as panelist in a panel session titled “Advanced Technologies for Integrated Water Management & New Value Streams. “Talk moderated by Moin Muhammad from NESR, with other panelists Hideharu Yonebayashi from JODCO, Saada Al-Shukaili from PDO, Alexei Levene from Desolenator and Raymond Burke from ADNOC.

Different aspects of subject of discussion were highlighted by all panelists and the audience highlighting the following key messages:

The Oil and Gas industry needs to expedite the adoption of new technologies such as nano fluid technology for produced water treatment while simultaneously managing the risk, highlighted by Dr. Abdullah Aldhafeeri. “Water economy is one approach to make oilfields independent of sourcing precious fresh water from aquifers and RO plants.”

“New Value Streams, such as minerals from produced water treatment, can completely or at least partially offset the costs associated with produced water treatment and supply minerals with a lower CO2 footprint.”
